I started my career as a national news reporter and features writer in Scotland before moving to London and Fleet Street. Since then my career moves have been going backwards on paper but in terms of writing and job satisfaction my life has progressed immeasurably!

I have worked for national newspapers  as a stringer in Europe, for local papers throughout England and spent half of my career as a tutor, trainer and lecturer in schools and Colleges focusing on literacy, numeracy and language skills.

What I have learned is that people love to write. Everyone can write well. Writing pages for the Internet, emails for friends, daily diaries for fun can bring as much satisfaction as writing a front page news story with bold byline.  

I also enjoy travelling and for me, Bulgaria at the moment is the place to be. Its towns and countryside are still unspoilt. Everyone is friendly and vibrant with enthusiasm and  plans as the newest members of the European Union.

My new job as content editor with Muse It Up Publishing is the perfect life for me. I learn, I read, I work from home and it is so much easier to edit someone else's work than one's own. I thoroughly enjoy fitting into the hearts and writing styles of all the talented authors we work with.
